The Queer Agenda

Welcome to our inaugural queer

newsletter for eastern Nova Scotia!

This newsletter is produced by the Cape

Breton Youth Project but we are hoping it

will become a collaborative project

with all of you, youth both in and out of

school.

For those of you who don’t know about the

Youth Project, we are a nonprofit dedicated

to making life a safer,

happier and healthier place for two spirit,

lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer

and questioning youth, 25 years

and younger, in Nova Scotia.

We are queers, serving queers – we love our

job and we love the community we

represent.

Covid has made life so difficult for

everyone and the rainbow community is no

different.  School clubs and community

events are all paused as we socially

distance to stay physically safe during the

pandemic.  But what about our mental

health and our sense of community?

That’s why we are launching this

newsletter.  We want to reconnect with you

while also providing a platform for you to

celebrate your creativity and success

stories.

We want your art, your words, your music.

We want to hear about what’s going on in

your community and schools -

who are the superstars that deserve some

recognition?

We want to  hear from voices that that get

muted by our society because you have so

much to say and we are interested in

hearing from you.

Let’s celebrate our different

cultures, traditions and backgrounds.

Let’s get connected with each other and in

the process, work on understanding

ourselves better.

I’m excited to see where this takes us, let

the journey begin.
